Analysis of TED Video #1

-----------------------------

Elizabeth Gilbert on nurturing creativity | Video on TED.com

Impression:

The first impression for me is that her pronunciation is really clear. It does not mean only her pronunciation but also her gesture, facial impression, and her expression.

The contents are mainly about what creativity is and how we can make it. Through a lot of kinds of examples or situations, she  tries to tell the most important phrese: Just do your job.

As for me, the most impressive expression is her metaphor for that phrase. She says Doing jobs are like dancing. It makes me to think about the relationship between jobs and dancing. I have found another aspect of jobs through the metaphor.

Strength:

     a) Her pronunciation is clear.

     b) She uses her hands very effectively to  express words. She also sometimes walk around.

     c) She sometimes makes a joke and smiles when she does. It becomes a good interval.

     d) she tells the most important massage in the end. When expressing the phrase, she uses a metaphor very effectively.

Weakness:

     a) Her ice-breaking talk at the beginning is not so enjoyable.

     b) Her speaking speed is pretty fast especially for non-native speakers like me.

     c) Her content includes very broad topic and it makes me confused to understand the context.
